The PSC endorsed 53 candidates in the general
election on November 3rd. All but eight won. One of
those who lost, Bill Thompson, was defeated by 50,000 votes in a
mayoral race in which polls predicted a landslide victory for
Michael Bloomberg.
The union endorsed a strong slate of candidates
who are friends of CUNY. Victorious Candidates for
city-wide office, Bill de Blasio (Public Advocate) and John Liu
(Comptroller), completed PSC questionnaires indicating vigorous
support for CUNY -- as did many of the endorsed City Council
candidates.
We look forward to working with all our endorsed
candidates, and the Mayor, to assure that CUNY receives the
funding and support it needs.
Particular thanks go to the our members and the
PSC's Legislative Committee who worked for the election of PSC
endorsed candidates

BOROUGH PRESIDENT
How to read this chart for Borough President races:
We've listed the borough on the left followed by our
endorsement. In the far right column, we've
listed the winner of the Democratic Party Primary by
indicating in parentheses the percentage of the vote won.
If there was no contested (NC) primary and the candidate
secured sufficient petition signatures for a place on the
November ballot in the Democratic column, we've indicated
that with the notation "NC." "I" indicates incumbent.
